Addressing Repercussion of Generational Trauma with LatinX Immigrants & First Gen clients utilizing the EMDR Therapy framework

This complex trauma advanced course dives deep into the nuances of complex trauma and its manifestations within your clients. Complex Trauma is a distinct mental health condition that impacts the brain, body, and soul. This course will highlight how chronic trauma reshapes the brain, disrupts individuals’ emotional regulation, and complicates therapeutic treatment. It will supply you with a comprehensive understanding of the underlying dynamics, and cultural impacts that we must keep in mind when using EMDR Therapy. We will review effective assessment tools, and overall therapeutic interventions with EMDR Therapy to optimize client’s treatments.

This training includes 6 EMDRIA CEs. Access to 6 continue education credits is also obtainable. NBCC CEs are available for those interested in acquiring them. A link to purchase will be given to those who opt to have them. CE Cost: $25.00

EMDR ADVANCED TRAINING LEARNING OBJECTIVES:  

*Describe how Complex Trauma differs from PTSD.
*Identify the different goals for single symptom presentation vs complex clinical presentations
*Understand different ways trauma can develop across cultures and identify ways different symptoms are viewed among different cultures.
*Develop a thorough understanding of Phase 1 and Phase 2 of EMDR Therapy and how it may differ across different cultures.
*Identify ways to increase cultural attunement to promote therapy-client trust and safety.
*Identify ways complex trauma may present during EMDR Therapy implementation, across all 8 phases.
