Consultations

Each attendee must attend five 2-hour group consultation in addition to the training sessions. The cost of consultation is included with the training. Group consultations are conducted by a video conference call via Zoom. An access link will be emailed to you after registration is completed.

Additional Information

This EMDR Basic Training is approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). This Training includes an additional 10 hours of consultation. Participants will learn the EMDR psychotherapy approach, the basic eight-phase EMDR protocol, the Adaptive Information Processing Model, and how to incorporate EMDR therapy into your practice. This course will include didactic presentations, demonstrations, case consultations, and supervised practicum opportunities for all participants.

Participants must attend the full training and all five-2-hour consultation groups to receive their certificate of completion in EMDR Basic Training.

Approval of partial programs will not be granted.

APA: This training consists of 42 continue education credits. CEs are available for purchase for those interested in obtaining them. A link to purchase will be given to those who opt to have them.

A 3.5% processing fee will be issued to all credit card payments.

Basic training Objectives

1. Identify the 8 phases of EMDR therapy with clients.
2. Communicate knowledge of the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model
3. Describe criteria for client selection and how to apply to client cases.
4. Described 3 safety measures for effective and safe use of EMDR Therapy
5. Demonstrate ability to gather client’s history and develop effective treatment plans for clients
6. Prepare a client for EMDR Therapy
7. Identify 3 resources to use with difficult resistant clients.
8. Develop knowledge of using EMDR therapy with cultural attunement for diverse populations.
9. Develop knowledge of clinical considerations when working with more complex specialty areas
(i.e., Addictions, children, couples, Dissociation, etc.)
10. Describe the protocol for closing down an incomplete EMDR session.
11. Identify strategies for dealing with dissociative symptoms.
12. Demonstrate knowledge for more complex processing skills, such as, Cognitive Interweaves.
